How to speed up slow android phone

After installing applications on android phone, the phone starts getting slow. The icons respond after some lag. There are some ways to improve the speed. I have discussed following 2 ways to improve the speed:

1.) Kill activities

2.) Stop running services

Killing Activities

For killing activities, install ‘ Advanced task killer’ App. It offers one click activity killer widget. After installing this app from android market, add widget on the home screen.

Whenever you click on this icon, the app will kill all the active applications. This will free up phone’s memory and speed up the phone.

Just make habit  to click once on this icon each time you unlock your screen.

Stopping Services

A service is an application which always runs in the background like “music player”, “Facebook ” , “Skype” etc.

Kill all the  services which are not required. It will definitely improve your phone’s speed. A service can be stopped  in the following way(I have stopped Facebook application in this example):

From the home screen, Go to Applications->settings->Applications->Running Services-> Facebook. (as shown in following screen shots)

Click on the service, you want to stop (Facebook in this case).

Click on “Stop” to stop the service.

Note: The services will start again automatically whenever your restart your phone.

The above two steps will help considerably improve the phone’s performance.
